for the amusement of other like souls, here is a twist table that i found while verifying that my 44 mag in remmy 788 really was a 36 twist ... the table says 38 twist ( !! ) so my measurement was close .

i always wanted to rebarrel it with a 16 twist but it was kind of a collector....  being only a lowly plinker guy, i sold it ...  such a great tin can buster though ...
