Anyone have any 1st person reviews on these scopes. Especially the Crossfire II 6x18. I picked up a used Bushnell 6x18 last week at a gun show for 25 bucks. I like the power but brightness and ease of adjusting the turrets and objective lense leaves a lot to be desired. I've read good things about the Vortex but hoping I can get some hands on experiences from people I trust to give it to me straight. This will go on a 22 rifle so won't be taking a beating.
Vortex Scopes

In my mix of scopes I have about a dozen Vortex scopes. They were mostly purchased to go on .22s and AR rifles. I have no fault on any of them, including a few Crossfires. i think they are hard to beat for the cost.
I will add one more to look at and they are the Burris Fullfield II line of scopes. I have also about 10 of them including the older 2-7s. I buy those new or used when I find them.

I have two that are maybe ten years old. The glass is good, and adjustments work well, but they are not mess with much. One is on a heavy barrel 30/06 bench rifle and one on a CZ 7.62 X 39. I have no complaints on either.

I use two Golden Eagle scopes in traditional CBA competition. Both have been excellent.

ive got a Viper 30mm 2.5-10x tactical deal.I wouldnt hesitate to buy another scope from them.
i do miss the Nikons, they always had the brightest sparkly glass.

I have had excellent luck with Vortex Crossfire scopes as well as Burris Fullfields. In fact I ordered a new Burris Fullfield this morning for my grandson's new Ruger .308.

Two Vortex Golden Eagle 15X60 scopes, one each for my CPA Stevens 44 1/2 rifles. These are bright and the adjustments repeat.
I'd buy another Vortex scope.

Hit the "Buy Now" button for a Crossfire II 6x18 on your recommendations so if it's a piece of crap you can all expect a visit. This thing isn't a Viper or Golden Eagle (not even in the same league if price is an indication) but I hope it's decent. They seem to get good reviews on various sites so I think you'll be ok.
I had my CZ out today. It actually got over 40 degrees and the wind was below 25 mph for a change. I went to try out some Tac-22 I picked up at the show I bought the Bushnell 6x18 at. I shot 100 rounds of Tac at 50 yards without much success. I'll save it for my 22 handguns. Then I went back to CCI SV again at 50 yards. My rifle seems to like this stuff. Or at least this lot of this stuff. This 22 shooting is actually a lot of fun and I regret neglecting it most of my shooting life.

accurate ... 1 moa ... yet cheap 22rf ammo ... there really is such a thing ...
but
like finding out that Unicorns poop Snicker bars ... by the time you finally try a sample, the Unicorn is gone ...
by the time you get discover those amazing groups from that one box you picked up at the gas station on your way home from Wendy's .................. some lowly tin can plinker has scarfed the last 2 cartons all up ....

my own Rosebud was a carton of Winchester Wildcats ... bought at a jewelry store ( !! ) ... $10 ... grouped 0.4 inch at 50 yards ... right away I ordered a case but BOOM Winchester had discontinued Wildcat 22rf ammo ... ...
lots of good stories from shooting rimfire ...

There's a few of them here... my only complaint on the Diamondback and Crossfire is the edge clarity and/or the actual eyebox width. Meaning, the image is pretty far from actual available space(overly thick black edges). Can't say it as an absolute, may be some examples are better than others?
Never had one that needed sending back to the factory but hear they have a no BS return policy?
Would I buy another?... yes,but would go towards their higher $$ lines.

That doesn't track with my experience. In fact, the last scope that I had to return for repair was a Leupold.

I received my Vortex 6x18 Crossfire 2 scope yesterday. I put a Weaver T36 on my CZ so figured I'd put this one on my Green Mountain barreled 10/22. My first impression of the scope so far. The brightness is fairly good at 18x on a scope in this price range and the glass is clear. The adjustment turrets leave a bit to be desired because they're mushy and you can barely feel the clicks. I don't know if this is real important but different than most scopes I have. The scope comes with a sunshade which is a nice feature....again with a scope in this price range. It does look decently built and the eye relief is good. When it warms up a bit I'll get it to the range to check how well it tracks and how good the AO works out but overall my impression is pretty good so far.

The only complaint I had about my crossfire was also with the mushy adjustments. I found the optics were fine but the clicks were less than positive.

a bit late to the party here ... but since I have " a few " sporter 22rf rifles and my eyes need a scope on anything I shoot ... switch these around all the time ...
I have settled on the following for my plinking;
gotta be kinda cheap ... I look for sales so buy new ... or used from a known Certified Saint .
gotta have adjustable objective range from 50 300 feet at least
gotta have precise and repeatable adjustments
here are my current picks ...
1 of old Weaver K10 from 1974 ... ok, I had this and like old stuff ... does everything perfectly.
4 of Simmons 22MAG ... the ones with AO ... $65 ea on sale, Closed out. kinda tinny adjustments but track ok
3 of RWS Airgun scopes ... I use these even on medium load cast rifles ... just remember shorter eye relief.
1 of newer Bushnell Banner 3-9 ... so far very impressed, only had it a year ...
oh, and a weaver K1.5 on my 1960 Ruger standard pistol.
it ain't really a plinker 22 if the whole rig goes over $250 ... i aint bot a new plinker 22 since my Ruger pistol in 1960. anybody else got a Remmy 550 ? Win 74 ? Cugir single shot Trainer ? Ted Williams Ithica 49 ? ...

Sorry Ken, last 22 LR plinker I got was a Remington 34 single shot that some one gave me.

I had an Ithaca 49 probably 40 years ago. I gave it to my nephew and have no idea if he still has it or not. A guy I worked with knew I was into guns so gave it to me.

Ken, I've got a Remmy 510 converted to magazine feed. Has been my hunting rifle for decades. Barrel shortened to 21", decent shooter.

Ken: I have a Remmy 510, a 511, and a 512, all with scopes. I guess you could say it’s a family affair. I also have the requisite Win. 74. I have one Simmons 22 mag and I have been very happy with it. The price appeals to my Scottish blood.

A Winchester 74 was my first decent rifle. It represented moving a lot of hay bales. I developed some bad habits with it and decided I needed a non auto loader. I traded for a Marlin 39A. Partly because there was a picture of one in the early Gun Digests (1946 I think) and the caption said that "it was very accurate". This was well before I became a skeptic.
