Today I would like to disagree.
Woke up this morning to 20 below, and decided to work over my new Rock Island 1911A1 - FS. This one is the Davidsons Exclusive. I picked this gun up about 2 weeks ago, and have shot it quite a bit. And decided to strip it down to the frame and give it a good cleaning, and Polish some parts, along with this that and the other. I got it all apart, and first thing I did was a trigger job. After fitting the hammer and sear a bit better, I polished everything up, and it might be the best trigger I've ever had in a 1911. Next, I dug through my box of parts looking for a sear spring, which I found, along with a flat wire recoil spring. So got those fitted and working. I also found in my box, a Wilson combat match grade barrel and bushing, so spent some time fitting that. After 5 hours I had it all back together, and took to out and shot it a bit. The group shot was the first test group fired. Shot a couple other groups like it as well. Must say I am pretty happy.
Load was CCI 300 4.7gn Reddot 230gn Cast bullet with HF red powder coat. Mixed 45 ACP cases.
