Wasn’t Brennan’s soft cover book The BenchRest Primer just a reprint of original articles from Precision Shooting? How difficult would it be to pull all of the articles from the history of the Fouling Shot and sell it soft cover just like Brennan did? Editable scans are doable aren’t they?

Back in the 90’s I bought three of Brennan’s books and was so excited about them that I passed them on to shooters new to benchrest. I had a big heart but was dumber as a rock. Should have kept one. If you can find them used they cost a bunch. Just another of my bad ideas. I’m on a roll aren’t I. Bill Cook.

I just went back into my "The Benchrest Primer" and read a few random articles. You are right it is a collection of articles that had appeared in PS, many the result of Dave Brennan writing to twenty or so top BR shooters and asking them about a specific topic, and then publishing their replies.

We already have something somewhat similar to that on sale in our store in Joe Brennan's massive compilation of articles by a large number of Cast Bullet contributors. 600+ pages of everything you wanted to know about cast bullet shooting and were afraid to ask. Some of the topics can't be found in any other source I know of including the Internet and without all the misinformation about shooting you have to wade through on the Internet.

For ALL the articles that have been in TFS we already have this on sale in the form of all the magazines on CDs. Picking out an area to compile articles about may be a workable plan -  revolver loads, cast bullets loads for hunting, the pursuit of CB accuracy in rifles, etc.

To do that would require an editor to pick out the best articles and to do the work.  Therein often lies the problem in an organization running on volunteers. We are now looking for a secretary and sorting through the candidates that have volunteered for this key position will be a very small job -- currently at 0 candidates.

Thanks, Brennan’s book will work just fine. I should have looked for the answer myself before going out and asking others. Appreciate it.

If anyone has a spare used/worn copy of the original BenchRest Primer that they want to sell, let me know. I’ll be happy to buy it off you. Like I said, I was dumb as a rock back in those days and gave away three copies to new shooters. It was “the Bible” at the time.

Today it’s Tony Boyer book that will hold the top spot for many of us for a very long time. Thanks again, Bill Cook.
