I am trying too find a scope mount for a semi-sporterized Krag carbine.

It is already drilled and tapped with 2 sets of holes. One set is rather low and far rearward on the left side and the other is higher and a bit forward.

I know weaver made them in the past but I have no old part number by which to differentiate.

Appreciate the help!

No problem.

Way back in the day my Dad let me buy his Krag from him. At one point I wanted to try a scope, but was hesitant to drill holes in that brittle case-hardened receiver. An outfit called S&K makes a side mount that doesn't need holes. A machined ring positioned around the front of the receiver has a threaded hole to anchor the mount at the front, while a U bolt goes in the magazine cutoff hole at the rear to secure the back of the mount. Worked well and kept zero. It's somewhat bulkier than the Weaver but not a big deal. You already have holes so might as well use them.

Well ,Heck! Once you told me that it was easy! I'll let you know how it worked when the parts get here.

I have a sweet Lyman American waiting to go on it.

I've always had a soft spot for Krags, that's what my Dad carried for many, many years.

It looks like the current Weaver part number is the #2 side mount.

Natchez Shooter's Supplies shows they have them in stock.

No idea if your screw pattern matches, but Natchez has a photo on their website.

You will have to get scope rings built specifically for the side mount, Natchez has those too.
