Local contractor contacted me about a sheet lead shower pan that he got redoing a bathroom.  Rather large and about 100lbs. or so.  Should be pure lead.  Need to make it a more manageable size.  Said he wanted to give it to someone that could use it.

Tony said he would save any lead plumbing to be properly recycled by me.

Good to network.

This will be a good source for you.  I have a plumber friend that drops by some old plumbing from time to time.  For shower pans, a utility knife and a heavy leather glove to protect against sharp edges of lead cutting me.  Cut enough to score well, flex and it makes smaller pieces.  Either roll or fold and melt.  Very good stuff and any soldered seams just add a little tin to the mix.  Very nice to have friends like this.

More likely to be lead and (4% give or take) antimony for a little strength.  Just my experience, YMMV.  Good find!
