Hello To All,
No, I'm not dead, I'm still kicking and very much the same old coot. My question is: is there anyone out there in cast bullet land that has actually chrono-graphed the velocity of lead pellets powered by primers? My reason for asking is, the friend of mine whose cartridge conversion plate was adopted by Cimmaron Arms for their revolver with percussion cylinder and cartridge conversion cylinder combo's, sent one of his new prototype rifles, a neat little critter, that fires either pellets or cast .22 bullets with a charge of black powder. They asked him to come and visit and he and the owner spent a lot of time firing the little prototype and several other firearms. The final decision from Cimmaron was, we're going to manufacture it. Now they want him to come up with a separate breech block that will fire either .222 or.22 Hornet cases with primers and pellets.
He called me tonight and asked if I had ever chronographed such. I said no, but I can find some people on the forum who have. He's needing this information to get to work on his breech block option. If you have such information, please let me know.
