Well powder is almost everywhere again, prices are good back at normal, they sell quickly though. Some examples:

2400 - $30
Bullseye - $28
Accurate #2 - $25
Tightgroup - $23

Primers?????? From $70 - $110 at online sources we all know, that scares me. But if powder is back to normal, then primers can't be far behind. My personal guess is that we will see a 30% + increase when all settles down putting primers at $40-50 per brick. But I hope I am wrong.

Meanwhile those of us outside the US look at those prices and think “if only”.

Here in Georgia powder is coming in and selling at around 30$ a pound. Supplies and types are limited but if you wait you may find what you want. The hoarders prices have come way down,

No primers here in stores. The local hoarders are advertising primers at 200$ a brick. This will not last once supply improves which will be soon.

Went to Rural King yesterday. They only wanted $38/ box of some obscure brand 357 mag. No 9mm. $90/brick of 22rf. I'm not counting on the drought being over. The conditions that caused this are still in place.

For first time I stood in line for Sportsman's Warehouse from 10 minues before opening this morning hopping to get a pound of AA#2 and primers. They are limiting sales to one pound of powder and half a carton (500) primers.  I got lucky. The powder cost $29.  Chopping the primer carton's in half allowed them to use the 100 box price so $22 for the 500.  Fair enough and far below some stories I have heard.

A friend of mine went to a gun show here in SE Michigan.  He found a table that had quite a few of the pistol speed powders for sale. They were $ 47.00 a pound.  Needless to say he didn't buy any and didn't even waste his time looking at the primers.  Looks like some are starting to become available again which is encouraging.

I like it for target loads in revolver calibers. I was never able to get enough in a 9mm case to cycle the action.

Trail Boss the is solution to for people who load with a progressive machine and can't check how much powder is in the case. Other than that it has no advantage over other fast pistol powders. No matter what Mic says, powder position is a myth with anything like a standard pressure load. FWIW

Locally our LGS has more powder available than in a while, nothing I need. They also have more primers in stock, but so far just small pistol and shotshell. For our small town that's a lot compared to the past 4 years.

Powder is back 37-45$ a pound. At the local Big Box several fast pistol and a dozen rifle speeds. You might not find exactly what you want but you could load any caliber with what was available. Primers come and go, there were Winchester  SP @ 89$ a brick - no limit. They lasted two days. Small rifle last week, maybe large rifle next week, they go quick, you have to be there.

Another few months and we may be back to normal.

Guns have been at normal prices for quite a while, which usually means a street price of 10-20% under suggested retail, except for a few exceptions like the Colt revolvers.

As far as a concerted effort by our politicians to create the shortage, I don't think so and since we don't allow political talk to be discussed on this forum, we will leave it at that. One for and one against that theory. (Any more discussion of politics on this thread and the entire thread will be deleted).

Bruno's in AZ has/had CCI 34, 41 and 450's. The mil-spec were $550/5M and the SRM's $500/5M, so your math is right on.

Not a lot of powder selection here in northern Ill. No primers. Loaded ammo is around. A lot of it is brands I never heard of. It seems a lot of it is small cottage industry type stuff. Still priced on the high side.

Last time in Scheels the only primers on the shelf were the CCI 41(?) specifically for 5.56 at $80 a brick.  Not a lot of powders yet.

I want to go to the 2022 NRA Annual Meeting to meet with the suppliers and discuss their pricing.

I was fortunate to be well-stocked in an effort to have the same lot number.

Well I sold 30,000 fed 210m primers about 3 years ago thinking I had more than needed . Sitting here wishing I had thought that over a little more.I was in sportsman the other day where there was standing room only at gun department with very few pistols in stock and even less powder and primers. Used pistols in my area still commanding a premium price.
