Hi everyone!  As the title says, I've been around casting a while but haven't been a member here.  I used to be quite active 5 or so years ago on another well known casting forum.

I retired a couple years ago and now have time to do some of the things I enjoy like casting and load development.  I keep finding boxes of cast loads(load data attached) I never had time to shoot due to work and life so I figured it's time to dust off my casting, loading and shooting skills.

I notice quite a few familiar usernames here, it's good to be back among friends!  I especially want to thank Jeff in NZ for helping me straighten out a log in issue.  Thanks Mate!

Welcome. Your profile shows NE Washington state, the Pacific Northwest is a good place to shoot  competition. The first benefit is meeting like-minded shooters and swapping information. Matches are held by several clubs in the Seattle area, Spokane, Brush Prairie near Vancouver WA, and Hamilton, Montana. You are in a prime area for cast bullet shooting.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

What brought me here was in fact looking into match shooting in my area.  I contacted Don Barron from the Spokane Rifle Club (about 45 miles SW of me) asking about their matches.  He suggested I join the CBA to keep informed of upcoming matches.  I've never shot an official match so it's all new to me.  As a military vet I did qualify on the M16A1 so I am familiar with range rules and commands.  Most of my CB shooting has been on my own property where I can shoot out to about 200 yards safely.  Now I just need to work up some loads worthy of competition!

Welcome Dean! As Bud mentioned there are plenty of opportunities for matches in our region. Don Barron puts on fun matches that are only as serious as you wish to make them. Bring what you have to shoot. We only have 100 yards there. It's always fun and for me, living in Ellensburg always worth the drive. Of course I can say the same about all the other matches around our region that I have been to. Great conversation and lots of nice folks to meet.

Thanks for the welcome and info Mark.  Don told me he was hoping to have a match in Jan. or so depending on the lock down situation...  Sounds like a fun time, I look forward to attending and meeting more folks.
