My granddaughters, 8 and 10 years old were shopping with their mother and saw this soap. They said, "Mommy, grandpa needs this soap". I love them very much. They are my range buddies.

I have been using the Duluth Trading Co. soaps for a decade or so. The OD green stuff is identical to USGI salt water soap which was issued on deployments to Southeast Asia in the late 1960s. Works well for bucket or helmet wash if cotton Herrington utilities as well as to dip wash and rinse mess gear in helmet in warm water warmed to just steaming with shaved C4 fuel. RIC and Eutectic can probably flesh out from their experiences.

My experiences with it is as a mix of Fels-Napha and Ivory soap. If is a very good surfactant and cleans well in streams and rice paddy water. It was not too hard on the skin except in the crotch and arm pits, but better than salt sores and heat rash. The big advantage was that you could shave with it if you had something to put on your skin afterwards. If resupply was available, the medic would give you alcohol wipes or hydrogen peroxide to put on your face after shaving.

Some said that the smell was a give away for a couple of days, but we engineers sweated so much, it didn't make any difference. It was certainly no more than the bug repellent.
