inverted gas check?

Do inverted gas checks work?  I'm thinking of casting some dead-soft bullets to shoot out of a 10" 357 magnum Contender for a deer hunting load.  It's a straight wall case, so there shouldn't be an issue with the check making it's way into the cavern of a bottle necked case.

I could size it first in a Lee push die. I did a search but didn't come up with any specifics.  Thanks.

Oops.  Just found this;  https://castbulletassoc.org/blog/article/2019/6/177/Shooting-the-inverted-gas-check

I found this on the Cast Boolits site:  "I have tried it and it did work but the cost of checks and the fact that I could get as good results with card wads stopped me from going further."

I'm not familiar with card wads.  Seems like I've opened a can of worms.

Anyone avail themselves of this technology?

I use a 'poly wad' under a PB bullet in my .32-20 driving at full throttle with success.  Low density polyethylene, recycling mark 4.  The LDPE flows radially apparently and seals perfectly.  Great accuracy.  Velocity is 1850fps with ACWW.

Thanks for the tip.  I will give that method a try.  I imagine in order to do this you take a fired case and use it as a cookie cutter to cut out plastic disks.  Then you put the disk under the bullet and load as usual.  Seems like an easy enough experiment to try.  Just got to get me some of that #4LDPE. Just looked at a milk jug and it is #2.

I'm trying to avoid buying a new GC mold, and gas checks and a push die.  I thought about just buying some 35 caliber gas checks and trying inverting them but I will try the plastic disk thing first.

I punch them out with a wad punch of 8mm from memory.  Get as close to final sizing at possible.  Wad then seated on the full case of powder under the bullet.
