Hi team

Yesterday we added a new member to our family.  Willow.  Golden (yellow) Labrador.  She is 9 weeks old.

We lost our original black lab two years ago and it was heart breaking.  Now the time was right to get another dog.

My wife had a stroke in March and is recovering very well but has been hankering for a dog.  I was reluctant but gave in this week.  Willow is going to be great to help with Sheryl's recovery.

Cheers from New Zealand

With rifle in hand, I confidently go forth into the darkness.

Has anyone else noticed the calming affect of watching a pup sleep?

What does your "loading assistant" think of her?

Been there. Our 12 year old Golden Retriever, Zinfandel, was a replacement for our previous GR Maddie. We thought Maddie was the best dog in the world but Zinny, has been the #1 dog. Even cat people like him. He barks once a month whether he needs to or not. Hope your wife makes a good recovery. Stroke medicine today can be much better than in the past. NZ was a great trip in 2015, our daughter doing a summer (winter) abroad at Massey University. Got a stop on the Queen's Holiday coming into Christchurch by the Alcohol police. Apparently the older laws were still in place and I lucked out that my BAC was under the old % but not the new standard.

Best to your family and new member.

Dave

We lost our Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix in October of 2019. Since I've been stuck at home she was my daily companion and it hit hard. In May of 2020 we picked up a rescue from the Humane Society, he had just turned 2 years. HE fit right in with the family, we joke that Sidney is telling him how to get along here. BTW he's just as spoiled as she was.

So sorry to hear of your wife's stroke, but so glad she is having a good recovery. May God bless and keep her and you. I think everybody loves puppies.

Willow update.  She likes coffee.  I turned my back for TWO seconds.  Yeap, she's a lab alright.
