I was just notified that long time forum member, Gary, aka "Onandaga" passed away on April 20th. No other info is known at this time. We will always remember the opinionated Gary as a person who had a great deal of casting knowledge and shared it with everyone.

Goodbye, Gary.

So sorry to hear this. He was one of the first to welcome me when I joined the CBA. He immediately gave some advice for my no 4 Enfield. RIP Gary, you'll be missed.

Long time Caster/Reloader, Getting back into it after almost 10yrs. Life Member NRA 40+yrs, Life S.A.S.S. #375. Does this mean a description of me as a fumble-fingered knuckle-draggin' baboon. I also drool in my sleep. I firmly believe that true happiness is a warm gun. Did I mention how much I HATE auto-correct on this blasted tablet.

I hope that Gary's passing was gentle, although I would be willing to bet that he did not:"Go gently into that good night.".

Gary certainly had a wide knowledge of casting techniques and trouble shooting problems. He will certainly be missed.

When I first joined the CBA 3 or4 years ago, Gary always had good, sound advice for me and helped accelerate my understanding of casting and how to troubleshoot problems. I will be forever grateful that he was so willing to pass on his expertise without hesitation. I am so sorry and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Rest in peace Gary.

Agree with Larry. Gary was opinionated, but encouraged discussion and was eager to help newcomers.

He will be missed and we should all carry on in his memory.

Gary was a great person who always spoke his truth. His contributions always improved our sport and helped keep the Eastern Whitetail population in check. There is not one person on this site that he did not touch in some way. Everyone knows who "Gary" was. I hope I get the chance to talk with him again. A craftsman, a scholar, a curmudgeon and a professional, RIP Gary.

Greetings, and Farewell,

"Onandaga" helped me with a couple items, and for that I will always think of him most positively. When I first became aware of the Cast Bullet Forum and joined, he was one of the first to welcome me, respond to my threads, and always gave positive input. If he disagreed, he wrote why; then he would explain what would be better or what was known to be better and why. We also traded some Alaska blueberry and low bush cranberry jam for some onandaga flints. Thank you Gary.

He was an experimenter, seeking to understand what others only knew about. He was detailed in his explanations, willing to impart his knowledge. This is the type of person who contributes most to this forum and he will be missed.

If they have not been shooting cast in heaven, Gary will see to it that they start!

I really enjoyed posting back and forth with Gary, beyond cast bullets I think he also was an expert in knapping flint, making stone age tools. And his barrel polishing method.

Perhaps, like another forum I frequent, we should designate Gary as an "Eternal Member" or something like that.

Sad news.

I always enjoyed reading what Greg had to say. He had a wealth of experience and he shared with everyone.

The forum will not be the same without him.

You might have agreed or disagreed with his opinions but one thing is for sure; he always stood on his hind legs to defend his sayings and shot them straight.Just the way I bet he'd shoot his guns!May he be forever happy in the Great Casting Lands.

Gary had expertise in many areas of interest. He was opinionated, but he had experience to backup his opinions. He helped me personally on several occasions on this forum and the other forum(that can't even spell the name of that which we all love.)

We had another serendipitous connection, he worked for the company which made the gold from which I cast many a crown and bridge.

May he rest in peace. He will be missed.

Liked hearing his take on issues. Used his bore polish method on a number of old rifles and it always worked as advertised and helped me clean up a lot of old rifles. On a positive note his legacy and posts will still be alive on the forum. RIP Gary
