Sad day. I held a funeral for 100 32-40 cases that have given up the ghost. I have no idea how old they are or how many times they have been shot. They were well used when I got them. The primer pockets are loose and a ring around the case near the base indicates separation will be coming.

At least I have 40 new cases to keep me going, but I'm in the market for some new ones.

I feel your pain. I am babying along some FA 1902 30/40 cases that I made into 40/50 Sharps about 14 years ago. Keeping mostly for history now.

I can sympathize. I too had to deep-six some .32-40 brass recently. Don't know how many firings but it had to have been in the hundreds of shots apiece. (I breech seat all my .32-40 stuff, no re-sizing, plus relatively light loads of 14.0gr. 4227 spells pretty long case life)

I've named each of  my old large primer 25-20 SS cases and celebrate their birthdays after every 5 shots.

Wow, named 25-20SS cases! I can do that too with my 50-90 Sharps since I have a whole 5 cases now. My only case was happy when I was able to adopt 4 more last month. Never even thought of naming them so thanks. Lol

Probably not the best topic Title on a forum with an average age of 85 years old? innocent

You know what,I  kind of thought about that.

The last couple matches i've been to The age difference between myself and the other shooters is still twenty years. Same as it was about thirty years ago when I started shooting matches. I was the young guy back then at 28 years old and now at 58 i'm still the young guy...
