Cast Bullet Engineering

Bradley, I was in the same boat as you when starting with the Paradox. I pulled a couple of H&H shells that I had bought in London and looked at how they were loaded. Then I sent a sample of their ammo to my friend at Ballistic Research for testing. That gave me a baseline for velocity and pressure in the factory loads. After a few discussions with Tom about it we settled on a starting load and make up of the initial test rounds. I loaded them and sent them off. From there some adjustments were made until the final load was worked out. Here is a sectioned factory cartridge a loaded round and the info on the factory box.

These are 2-1/2"  factory loads using a hard card over the powder with a thick cushion section then another hard card under the slug. Pmax for this ammo was 6,700 psi and 1070 fps average out of his test barrel. Somewhat slower than we expected. My load uses a plastic wad with the pedals cut and some filler wads but the velocity is the same and the pressure is slightly less. PM me and we can discuss load data off line. Best, Squid Boy
