My Weaver T36 twists in the rings. Scope on gun in case, sometimes twists = crosshairs not level/plumb.
So I started taking scopes off guns, still twisting.
Yesterday, scope wrapped in a t shirt, then in a purpose-made bag;;;no dropping or treating bad-crosshairs 15 degrees of horizontal.

I switched back to the Leupold steel rings mounted to one piece base with rear windage adjustment screws. Lots easier to level crosshairs and bore sighting before adjusting knobs.

Bad scope?
I use Burris sigs whenever I can as the offset inserts allow you to almost zero in the center of
adjustment range or build in additional elev. for LR shooting.
Have never had a scope move with them - both 30mm and 1" and many examples.

Years ago, a couple of shooting buddies and I started a .22 Rimfire silhouette program modeled on Black Powder Cartridge Silhouette to afford really good practice at our local 100 yard range.
The program was a success. I helped a lot of new shooters get set up with the rifles they had so that they would be competitive. I discovered that many of the rimfire rifles had receiver grooves cut crooked, screw mounts out of square, etc. The Burris Signature rings allowed me to properly zero all of those mismatched guns and scopes without issue. I never heard one complaint regarding the scope rings.
Joe may just need a new set of inserts to solve his problem.

not sure of the problem but keep in mind loc-tite or fingernail polish can stick things together ... a little dab'll do ya ...

I've got 3 Weaver t36's, all burris signature z rings. I tighten the ring screws not-too-tight, per several instructions. The scope won't turn in the rings with any reasonable force. But, on or off the gun, sometimes, the scope turns in the rings A LOT, and turns the same amount in both rings = the rings both fit on the base. The glasses stealer may be at my scopes.
