Received a phone call today from Buck Nowell's wife telling me he passed away "unexpectedly" last week.  He was the fellow that just wrote the 2-part article on the 25 Hornet for The Fouling Shot.

She mentioned he has (possibly) a complete collection of The Fouling Shot, as well as Handloader and Rifle magazines.  The are in Idaho right now but his brother lives in Northern Colorado, so they could be picked up from either location.  Shipping them might be pretty costly.  PM me and I can put you in contact with her.

That was one of his favorites, along with the 25 Copperhead.

I think it was Wooters that wrote about the .25 Hornet in the old articles I asked about.

Buck's first article, "Converting a Martini Cadet to 25 Hornet", was published in TFS Journal No. 260, July - August 2019.

The second article was in the next issue, and titled "25 Hornet load development".

were these the old .25 Hornet articles from 40 years or so ago?

It's been more than a year since Buck's passing. I've been helping his wife sell his accumulation of shooting and casting tools - of all sorts. Quite a bit has been passed on to excited new owners, but there is still quite a bit left, too.

The .25 Hornet that he wrote about has found a new home in my collection, and I'm honored to keep it doing what it was meant to do!

Sorry to hear of his death.  His article on the 25 Hornet was great.  Great writing, solid content, and with some humor -- the type of in-depth, high quality article not available elsewhere that makes CBA membership worth the dues.
