While this is not a bench rest score it happened during the 18 Aug 2018 CBA Military match at the Van Dyne Sportsmen's club.
Jeff Heeler shot a 40 shot match offhand with his 71/84 Amberg .43 cal Mauser. Lyman 446110 at 350 grains, 24.0 grains of AA5744, WLR primer, velocity chrono at 1250 fps.
This is probably a 40 shot record and a 10 shot record for a Big Bore rifle.

The 84 only ties the present record, so my name will not be in the records for 10 shot target. Worst part of it is that I knew I had a good target going (I refuse to add numbers while shooting) but my last shot on the 84 target was a 6. Ouch.

nice shooting .... and with irons, too ..... got a picture of the sights on that old classic ?? ....
i shot my spring groundhog over a fine iron notch on my swede rifle .... i had forgot how tough that can be ... especially if you are over 24 years of age ...

A picture wouldn't show how small the rear notch is without a macro lens. So I got the caliper on it and it measures only .040 wide. And they call this a battle sight? The front sight looks like a 30 degree triangle the same as the M98. Sometimes I wonder what Peter and Paul Mauser were drinking the night before they designed these sights. Best part of this rifle is the trigger. It's smoother and lighter than all the rest of my Mil. guns, and that includes (2) K-31's, M96, M98, and an 03A3. Worst part is the really long lock time. As an example, if the sight is moving left to right on the target and the shot breaks in the center, the hit will be wide right by several inches. Bought this rifle off the "other site" a couple years ago.

1.8 Firing Positions
(a) Benchrest - Seated at a shooting bench with the firearm supported by sandbags.
(b) Standing - Erect on both feet with no other portion of the body touching the ground or any supporting surface. Rifles will be supported by both hands and one shoulder only. The elbow or upper part of the forward arm may be placed against the body or rested on the hip. Leather or heavy canvas shooting coats, palm rests, slings, and hook buttplates are NOT permitted. Shooting jackets that do not provide a lot of support are permitted.
