A friend on Castboolits was kind enough to make his Brooks .778” 730 grain HB mold available to me . And I cast 300 of them today of 50/50 WW's and pure lead .

I think that many BP shooters would put some lube (like Bore Butter, or homemade BP lube) in the hollow cavity and a little in the lube grooves as well as using a lubed fiber wad like the one you show. I would not pursue patching that slug, but lube it. Maybe using 777 you don't really need all that lube, as its real purpose is to soften fouling from black powder. If you had access to the real thing, you might be surprised at how well it shoots.
I have Goex 2Fg and 3Fg just choose not to use it .

Greetings 6pt-sika,
Out of curiosity, do you use any lube for the bricks you are sending out of your 10-guage? 773 grains, and I thought 500+ for my .58 cal ML was a lot. Have fun between Va and Pa. I was on a few drives at Camp Pickett when I was living just outside Spotsylvania, but never unloaded any shells.
TKThey are .778” in diameter and weigh 730 grains . Not used any lube yet , but I will if I ever find a suitable patch material .

I cast another 100 of these slugs today . And then packaged the mold up to ship it back . I think 400 of these should most certainly last me the rest of my life !

Architects tracing paper is a really good patching paper when thin patch diameter is wanted.

Just got back from the range !Tried these slugs again in my Macfarlane original 10 gauge SxS ML . I have yet to find a thin enough material to use as a patch with these so I keep using the overshot cards I cut for birdshot and buckshot .I had before tried 70 and 80 grains of granulated 777 2Fg . Today I started with 80 grains and again it shot high at 25 yards . So I bumped it up to 90 grains and again still on the high side . Bumped her on up to 100 grains and it got in a more workable area , so I figured I'd give 110 grain of granulated 777 2Fg a try and it did rather nicely or so I think !

what is the smokeless load for a 10 ga slug ??
kenIn the 10 gauge muzzle loader I have at the moment I'm using 80 grains of granulated 2Fg Triple 7 . If I ever get a Parker 10 gauge with cut barrels or a set of cut 10 gauge barrels for one of the Parker's I already have the smokeless load will be 30 grains or SR7625 or possibly Universal Clays once the 7625 is gone .
