Well I just sent off the funds for another Parker . This time a 10 gauge EH with a #3 frame and 32” F/F barrels . Guns not in as good a shape as my 1889 EH on the #2 frame but thats okay .

Just heard from the seller . Got funds today and it will ship today via UPS . So from New Jersey to Virginia it should be here Friday !

The Parker arrived today . And to be honest it exceeded what I was expecting by a good bit !
The bores in this thing are like mirrors , the barrel rang true when I tapped them , all the pertitnent places had matching serial numbers and the gun locks up tight and on face . I think the stock had been refinished or finish added .

Monday morning weather permitting I plan on trying this new to me Parker with handloaded #1 Bismuth on the pattern board . And then try hanloaded 000 , 00 , 0 , 1 and 2 buckshot all buffered but shoot these on paper at 25 yards the Bismuth I'll try at 40 yards .

Just finished loading some buckshot for trial in my new to me EH #3 frame gun .
All are in brand new Remington hulls with SP-10 wads and over cards . Also all have 30 grains of SR7625 and CCI209 primers .
For 000 I have eight pellets and six 9mm cases full of Grex .
For 00 I have 12 pellets and four 9mm cases full of Grex .
For 0 I have 12 pellets and five 9mm cases full of Grex .
For 1 I have 16 pellets and five 9mm cases of Grex .
For 2 I have 22 pellets and three 9mm cases of Grex .
For 3 I have 26 pellets and three 9mm cases of Grex .
Plan on trying them in the AM at 25 yards .

Bought a set of 12 gauge 32” Parker barrels for a #3 frame gun as well as the forend for the barrels !

Got an email today from the fellow I got the extra barrels and forend from . He received my funds Saturday and barrels will go in the mail Monday . So since he's in NY state and I'm in VA I would think I should have in hand by Friday and hopefully sometime next week everything will be fit up !

Barrels and forend arrived late yesterday and looked pretty good . Started working in fitting them today and almost got it finished . I needed to leave the shop early today to hunt so I brought the gun with me and left the new barrels there . Should get them fit up Monday !

Well my friends never got the barrels finished when I gave them to him originally . Before he got done I had taken the gun with the 10 gauge barrels deer hunting and then goose hunting . Well hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday we can get them finished up before I leave for the Philippines Thursday !

Now if I could find a set of Parker #3 frame Damascus 16 gauge barrels with forend and also 32” !
Attached Files
Well the snow Monday kept the shop closed ! So I got in Tuesday and dropped off the EH and the 12 gauge barrels and forend .My buddy however wasn't able to take time to finish fitting them .Today he was closed for blueing and didn't have time . So I won't be able to test fire them until I return from the Philippines the end of March . I'm really interested to shoot patterns both barrels with my low pressure trap/skeet loads and then shoot a round of trap or two . The bore diameter of the right barrel is .734” and the choke measures .695” for 39 points of constriction . The left bore diameter is .732” and the choke measures .690” for 42 points of constriction . That's tight full and extra full ! Thing should be great for trap and jap trap .

I'm kinda interested to try #2 and #3 buck for sure ! I'm not big on #4 buck but with the full and fuller chokes in this gun it might do a decent job .

I love the old cool stuff. What happened to not shooting Damascus barrels? I always heard that growing up, electrolysis and rust? Nothing prettier though.

Dunno I have no less then 11 Damascus or twist steel barrels that I regularly shoot . Granted the loads are not hot or high pressure . But I still shoot them with smokeless . Heck I killed a deer this year with hand loaded buckshot in my Parker circa 1889 EH #2 frame 10 gauge .

I haven't asked if my 12 gauge barrels have been fit to this gun since I left the country . But I'll find out sunday when my gunsmith buddy picks me up at the airport . It also seems that I've found a source for slugs to load for my 10 gauge guns . Might not be able to use a SP-10 wad with a shotcup but it might very well give me a decent starting point to have a mold cut for myself . Also have located a seemingly nice old used and slightly abused Parker 10 gauge with 27 7/8” cut twist barrels . This just might be the one I've been looking for . This thing supposedly has all the choke removed as I think they were originally 32” barrels . I've had my eye open for a Parker in similar shape that was cut many years ago for shooting skeet , buckshot and possibly slugs . This one I've run across is on a #3 frame the generally heavy 10 gauge hammerless frame and with them lacking choke it “should” pattern buckshot rather well and hopefully shoot decent three shot groups out of both or one of the barrels . Then I'd also have a nicely chokes gun for the gun club skeet league .>

Well the 12 gauge barrels were fit to my #3 10 gauge frame while I was away ! Haven't seen them yet but my gunsmith buddy was telling me about them when he picked me up at the airport today !
